Each school year I begin with the top ten things that I want my students to know about me. Number one reads: There are a very small percentage of people who decide at five years old what they want to be and actually become that. I am one of those few. I have spent the last twenty-six school years doing what I love most- working with students. I have spent my entire career working in the Livingston Public School system. During my tenure I have taught kindergarten, first grade, second grade, fifth grade, and seventh and eighth grade English. After twenty two years in the Elementary world, I switched to teaching special education in the middle school. Each time I have made a change in my career, I have been nervous. Yet, each change has brought me new challenges, new gains, and new joys. After many years in the classroom, I have realized that I have become increasingly passionate about leadership. My interpersonal skills, organization, and desire to make positive changes for students and staff are what drove me to pursue a degree in Educational Leadership. It is my hope that I can interweave my many years of classroom experience with my leadership skills to make improvements.
When I am not at school I am a mom to a college age daughter and a high school age son, and a furbaby. I enjoy cooking, reading, and exercising. I also love spending time at the beach when the weather is warm.
